The 36th edition of the Book Fair, organized by the Friends of and Culture, at Riantec, will be held this Sunday, November 17, 2024. 77 writers and publishers of novels, documentaries, poetry, comics and ‘heroic fantasy will present themselves to the public.

Two conferences are scheduled: the first will take place at 2:15 p.m., with Bleuzen Du Pontavice who will offer “Le sarrasin dit black wheat”, taken from his work of the same name; another at 3:35 p.m., by Justine Cadeau, in the footsteps of the witches. The winners of the short story competition, at 11 a.m., and the poetry competition, at 5:15 p.m., complete the program.

“A cry from the heart in the face of the war in Ukraine”

Katyushka Stanislavovna, French of Russian-Ukrainian origin, will be present. Author, composer, performer, she became known in 2013 for her song “Diedouchka” (grandfather). Coming from Montceau Les Mines, where her Slavic grandfather was a boatman (“those simple people of whom I am proud to be part”), she settled in Concarneau in 2017 and then devoted herself to literature (short stories, poetry). “Blood Brothers”, which she will present at the show, is her first novel. “A cry from the heart in the face of the war in Ukraine. My grandmother was Russian, my grandfather was Ukrainian, I am pro-Slavic and for peace. The book does not deal with the current situation but with the conflict in Donbass which is at its origin. The result of two years of investigation on the subject, the book takes a different look from that commonly accepted. “Since 2014, the Ukrainian people have suffered and Russian mothers have mourned their sons, their brothers and their fathers. People are hungry for the truth, and the truth does not taint Ukraine. This conflict should have ended with the Minsk agreements but interests and money decided otherwise. I thank the Book Fair for opening its doors to me as a self-publisher, it’s rare to be so open to literature, art and speech.”
