This is good news for music fans, especially rock fans. This Wednesday, November 13, “The ultimate rock discotheque”, a 360-page book on the greatest rock groups and artists in the broad sense, is released in bookstores by Editions Hugo Desinge. A beautiful work signed by Philippe Manoeuvre, the specialist in the genre.

From A like ACDC to the Z of ZZ top… This rock bible, published by Editions Hugo Desinge, even welcomes Diana Ross and Gainsbourg. The principle: original covers that Philippe Manoeuvre has digitized with his favorite record stores, but above all cult anecdotes. We learn in particular that the first response that Tracy Chapman receives from a record company is “madam perhaps you should tune your guitar”.

A rock must-have

This is not Philippe Manoeuvre's first book. In 2005, he released Rock'n'Roll: the ideal discotheque, 101 records that changed the worldfeaturing not only rock albums but also funk and soul records, from Funkadelic to Michael Jackson. With his Secret nightcluba book dedicated to his children, the journalist and French radio host, known for his expertise in rock, has made it his mission to bring together the greatest legends of the genre, by sharing the most juicy details of their careers.
