The 8th Book Fair will take place at the Béré Halle from Châteaubriant (-Atlantique), the Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November 2024from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. 90 authors will be on site for signing sessions and conferences with different workshops planned, as well as a exposition d’. Children’s authors in the spotlight

The inauguration of the show will take place on Saturday November 16, at 3 p.m.in the presence of officials:

“800 entries were recorded over the two days, during the previous edition, we expect roughly the same number,” declares Jocelyne Gautierpresident of the organizing association Starry Auroras.

“This year there will be more children's authors of comics, manga, fantasy and science fiction. We have a lot of new authors, in addition to the fair’s regulars.”

A guest storyteller

Whether they are self-published or distributed by publishing houses, these writers are mostly local to Bain-de-Bretagne, Blain, , et .

New this year, the actress and storyteller Isabelle Coste will present his storytelling show, Saturday at 5 p.m. for children and Sunday at 5 p.m.more suitable for an adult audience.

On Saturday and Sunday, conference debates will take place with the authors, on the theme of violence against women.

Art exhibition, craft sale and workshops

The lounge also welcomes an art exhibition, with ten artistssome of whom will exhibit their paintings for the first time. The public will also be able to discover a calligraphy and illumination craftsman and new this year, demonstrations of old-fashioned bookbinding.

And drawing and painting workshop for children and adolescents is also planned 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sundayas well as other animations.

And association stand will offer the purchase of cards, decorative items, jewelry and Christmas decorations for sale.

Donations to children with disabilities

The entrance to the event which is organized with the help ofaround thirty volunteers is free, only on-site catering is subject to payment, with pastries, sweets, pancakes, fruit juice, hot chocolate, mulled wine and beers for a gourmet snack.

The funds collected each year are donated to the benefit of families whose children are disabled.

600 euros will be given to four families and giving of donations will take place at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
