CULTURE. Nearly half of the thirty photographers represented there went to Drummondville recently for the launch of the most recent book by Drummondville photographer and semiotician Jean Lauzon which has just been published by Éditions Cayenne under the title Let’s see – when images awaken.

It brings together thirty photographs from as many photographers, including Ghyslain Bergeron of L’Express, who agreed to lend their images so that the author can make brief comments. They even contributed to financing the work.

This collective of 80 pages aims to be a new way of looking at and seeing photographic images and everyone appreciated Lauzon’s work in this regard.

The art critic Gilles Toupin, who signed the preface, described this new publication as “a remarkable work”. He specifies that he had immense pleasure in reading and contemplating it. “It’s solid,” he added.

The participating photographers come from several regions and their work highlights that photography is doing well in Quebec. Several of them, more or less known to the general public, certainly deserve to be more so.

This is the 26th book from Éditions Cayenne, published in this case in the Momento collection. The catalog of this publishing house which specializes in photography works continues to grow and takes up more and more space in quality photographic publishing.

The book is available to order from Éditions Cayenne: https://www.editionscayenne.com
