The 6th edition of the Terralire book fair, Occitanie publishers’ fair, takes place on Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2 in Albi, Pratgraussals room, with a guest of honor: Magyd Cherfi.

The 6th edition of Terralire, the publishers’ fair of the Occitanie-Pyrénées region-Méditerranée, will take place Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., in Albi, Pratgraussals room. The Terre de Livres association, organizer of the show, recorded the registration of 31 regional publishers from several departments of Occitanie and who will be accompanied by 65 authors.

Comment from the organizers: “Terralire aims to raise awareness of the work of publishers in the Occitanie Pyrénées-Mediterranean region and to promote their dynamism and the richness of their catalogs. Each year, this meeting is an opportunity for the great public to meet authors and attend round tables.”

For the 2024 edition, the show’s guest of honor is Magyd Cherfi, singer, writer and actor, founding member of the Zebda group. He will present his novel “The Life of My Mother”. The theme of this edition being “The portrait in all its forms”, there will be, among the authors in dedication, the novelist Delphine Laurent, the illustrator Laetitia Rose, the historian Francis Vennat, the journalist Alain Rollat.

Round table, signings, cinema and comic reading

In addition, 10 regional painters and sculptors will exhibit their works. Among the highlights of the show, Friday May 31 at 6 p.m., meeting with two publishers from the region at the Albi media library: “Profession édditeur”, with Plan B éditions and Editions Tapage.

Saturday June 1 at 3 p.m., round table “The portrait in all its forms” and at 8:30 p.m., cinema evening at Lapérouse with Magyd Cherfi and the film adapted from her book “Ma part de gaulois”. Sunday June 2 at 3 p.m., meetings with Magyd Cherfi and Delphine Laurent, moderated by Nane Vézinet.

At 4:30 p.m., comic reading for children aged 2 and up, with Mary Aulne and Leticia Rose based on their album “The Hunter, the Watchman and the Guardian”. At 5 p.m., Eléonore Astruc and Cathy Giovanini will present the show “Une dazzling desire to pass”.

Bruno Pachent, development director of the Dépêche Group, will dedicate his latest work “Sotterdam”, a novel halfway between the humanist fable and the science fiction story in which the main character, Doctor Benjamin Sotterdam, has the astonishing ability to be able to penetrate the souls of people.
