The Multiples show, a meeting around the small edition of artists, began at the Roudour space this Saturday, October 26 and continues Sunday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Around sixty authors and collectives offer a vast choice of original works, artists' , engravings, prints, screen prints and even videos and workshops.

Working in collaboration with nursing home residents

Among the new features on display for this 19th edition, visitors have the opportunity to discover the embroidery book by Liz Hascouët, originally from Moëlan-sur-mer. For almost a year, the artist led workshops with residents of three Brest structures of the Ildys foundation, two nursing homes and an addiction center. The project was carried out in partnership with Ildys and the Morlaisian association “Les Moyens du Bord”. After discussion, Liz Hascouët suggested that the participants draw their inspiration from a flower, present in one of the gardens of these establishments, or linked to an episode in their life: “Gardens are often places of sharing and meetings. We worked around the magnolia, the pear blossom and the rose,” explains the artist.

Around sixty artists are present this last weekend of October at the Multiples show in Roudour.

Embroidered fabrics to replace the pages

Liz Hascouët shared with residents the techniques she usually uses. Namely drawing, embroidery and framing. “These gestures allowed them to create and build relationships with each other and also with me,” she confides. Plants and humans are the guiding threads where embroidered fabrics have replaced paper pages.” As an extension of this joint work, Liz Hascouët produced three other artists' books solo. The first of them can be discovered this weekend on its stand at the Multiples show. It is called “The hands of Philomène” and intends to highlight and showcase the hands of all those who worked with her.
