The Librairie L’Échappée will receive on Saturday May 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Magali Bardos, creator of children’s albums at the École des Loisirs-Pastel, for a signing session dedicated to her latest work, “Kayak”, which is coming out these days. Magali lives in Rabastens and regularly releases albums that you recognize at first glance. His brushstroke, broad and generous, is his signature, just like his tender and funny universe. The books featuring his favorite character Griffachat are perfect lullabies for children aged 1 to 3. Likewise, albums like “Tapage and Ramdam” teach us what the strained friendship is between two neighbors who live apart, an owl and a squirrel. Perfect for 3-5 year olds. And that’s without forgetting his penultimate book: “In the footsteps of the bear”, a real documentary on the forest, captivating for 4 to 9 year olds. Finally, his latest album, “Kayak”, the story of which was written by Clémence Sabbagh, concerns navigation in tandem, in pairs, between a little girl, Ada, and Bub, and sacred animal, on a canoe-kayak. It’s not always easy to handle the paddle in the same direction, at the same pace. You regularly have to start everything from scratch to get back in the right direction. Note that the album has a little surprise in store for us: we arrive at the end of the story and it goes back in time. You can read it both ways! In addition to this session, Magali Bardos is in residence until the end of the month in Florence Gaillard’s CM1 class, at Henri Matisse.
