Saturday May 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., as part of the “Aux Bons Romans” random reading circle, the Fumel library invites you to a signing meeting with the author Luc-Michel Fouassier on the occasion of the release from his new novel “Cumulonimbus”.

Luc-Michel Fouassier, short story writer and novelist, was born in May 1968, in the Paris region where he works as a primary school teacher.

He is the author of four collections of short stories published by Quadrature and three novels published by Luce Wilquin, including “Le Zilien” with a preface by Jean-Philippe Toussaint, a Belgian writer and director who won the Prix Médicis in 2005 for his novel. “Flee” published by Minuit.

But it is with “Les pantoufles”, a novel published in 2020 by Editions de l’Arbre Vengeur, now in the Folio collection from Gallimard, that Luc-Michel has achieved well-deserved success, unanimously praised by literary critics ( Libération, Le Monde, Le Matricule des Anges, etc.).

The author returns to us today with “Cumulonimbus” published on April 4, by Julliard, where he moves from slippers to clouds. Something that cannot have been easy, although the two are not incompatible. Nothing stops us from having fun finding pareidolia in the clouds wearing slippers!

Pareidolies which are discussed in this clear, pleasant, poetic novel where Fabienne, writer and photographer, will pursue them to Auvergne where her family had spent vacation last summer. Family, today, missing its youngest daughter, Calypso, a runaway teenager from whom Fabienne has not heard from for several months.

Delicate novel about filiation, love and the lack of love without which nothing in this world has any real meaning because it makes us blind and very often clumsy but we can always try to blink to remedy it… Despite the seriousness of the subject, the text is not exempt from lightness. And the reading flies like a cloud on a windy day (about “Cumulonimbus”).

This May 25, Luc-Michel Fouassier will then go to the Rustic Toy House in Pujols at 4 p.m. in the company of librarian Romain Boissié.
