From May 21 to 25, Forcalquier hosts the 24th edition of the Youth Book Festival. Co-organized by the Croq’livres and Éclat de Lire associations, for the events taking place in Manosque, the party will have as guest of honor Bernadette Gervais, an important figure in the landscape of children’s literature. “His work is imbued with his passions: photography, old children’s books and his love of nature. If she enchants reality through her simple and sophisticated representations, there is no doubt that she will do the same during this week of festival“, explains Marion Dizès, coordinator at Croq’livres.

Readings, karaoke, workshops…

Bernadette Gervais will have, at her side, artists with multiple universes and committed to their practices: Annabelle Buxton, Sarah Cheveau, Aurélien Débat, Bruno Gibert, Emma Giuliani, Jeanne Macaigne, Pierre-Alexis, Marine Schneider and Liuna Virardi. During the week, the Maison des métiers du livre will host the exhibition by Jeanne Macaigne. Once the party starts, the week will see various events take place in the city. Tuesday, May 21, on the square in front of the La Carline bookstore, a children’s book karaoke will take place at 5 p.m. “Come listen and read carefully selected texts. A participatory and warm stage formula, in words and music.
