After several months of intense and fascinating readings, punctuated by exchanges and meetings, the Literary Prize for Incorrigibles 15-25 years old, for its 11th edition, had its epilogue at the Valery-Larbaud high school media library.

After a necessarily interminable wait for those interested, the name of the book winning the Incorrigibles prize would be known. And this, after the vote of the readers, themselves jurors, who had to decide between eight novels, previously selected by the librarians of the partner structures (media libraries of Vichy, Cusset, Bellerive, high schools Albert-Londres, Saint-Pierre, Valery-Larbaud and ES Vichy).

Share the love of reading

A varied selection between detective novel, sentimental novel, adventure… and a comic strip.

Around sixty students from different schools took part in the game, the majority of whom were readers, and were impatiently awaiting the result. They had to read at least five of the selected works to have the opportunity to vote; forty-three of them were able to do so.

The principal Christophe Bohème returned to the objectives of this locally created prize: to encourage high school and university students to continue reading, to facilitate the transition from teenage literature to more adult literature, by offering titles to which they would not have spontaneously gone, and above all, allow them to carry out constructive discussions on their readings during enriching meetings. Like on March 19, where the students were able to interact with Chris Vuklisevic, author of one of the books in the selection, Tea for ghosts .

To keep the suspense going, Marie Hélène Libercier, the librarian from the Cussé high school, proposed through a quiz to introduce the first three books, with only one point separating the first from the second. It was ultimately the novel (in comics) “All the Deaths of Laila Starr” by Ram V, which won the prize. Sara, 15, a student of Valéry Larbaud, explains that since she learned how to read, she has been an avid reader and is fond of historical novels. Her friend Chloé is more attracted to fantasy books.

They both took great pleasure in participating in this literary prize and have every intention of continuing to be “incorrigible readers”. It was “D’or et d’oreille” by Flore Vesco which took second place, “In the fogs of Capelans”, by Olivier Norek took third place.
