Olivier Norek’s novel appears on the first lists of Goncourt and Renaudot. In The Winter Warriorsit tells of a forgotten war, which lasted more than a hundred days, and which saw Finnish and Russian soldiers clash. It paints a portrait, in particular, of Simo Häyhä, a young sniper who, single-handedly, killed 542 Russians.

“The Pole” (JM Coetzee)

JM Coetzee, Nobel Prize for Literature 2003, signs The Polish, a short novel dedicated to unrequited love. Far from his great novels like Disgrace or Elizabeth Costello. Under the innocuous appearance of the novel, Coetzee, as a surgeon of the soul, dissects the twists and turns of the heart.*

“I gave you eyes and you looked into the darkness” (Irene Solà)

Telling the story of several lives over several centuries in a single day is the feat of the Catalan writer Irene Solà who has published a very beautiful second novel “I gave you eyes and you looked at the darkness”. To flesh out her story, she drew on the tales and legends of past centuries and immersed herself in the imagination of the Sierra de las Guillerias.
