Véronique Maurey, known to the Normans for her Cow parade in transhumance in Honfleur, Deauville and (a herd of resin cows, decorated by artists) returned with benches in the shape of open books. It acquired the exclusive rights for from the English designers of the “Books about town” exhibition.

Each of these books combines the text of a book with the illustration of an artist with the aim of restoring the desire to read to passers-by.

This year, there was added additional motivation, the 80e anniversary of the Landing. She participated in the celebrations with the exhibition “Reading the Landings”, from 1er June to August 10 in Arromanches.

With the support of Orep éditions in particular, she has carefully selected authors who have written about the Landing. “These authors each present a different angle of view from the great historical fresco to the more personal testimony, even the comic strip”, she testifies

Four of these “two-seater books” will be exhibited on the esplanade in front of Villare for the duration of the show. We will be able to see American writingsby Philippe Labro, who agreed to be the sponsor of the exhibition; War is not cinemaaround Jean Gabin; Ernie Pyle, summer 1944, a war correspondent in a collection of articles, some of which had never been translated, and a comic strip, Normandy 44, the hedge war.
