A lover of travel and wide open spaces, the special guest at the Corrèze event is the author of around thirty works, a good number of which have been translated around the world.

Emmanuel Lepage will be the main comic strip guest at the 42nd edition of the Brive Book Fair, which will take place from November 8 to 10, 2024. He will participate alongside Jérôme Garcin, president, and Rébecca Dautremer, main guest for children’s literature.
Official painter of the Navy
Born in Saint-Brieuc in 1966, Emmanuel Lepage published his first drawings at the age of 16. A lover of travel and wide open spaces, author of around thirty works, he is considered one of the greatest authors of contemporary comics.
His books have been translated and his works exhibited around the world. His work has also been recognized with numerous awards.
He was the first cartoonist to receive, in 2021, the title of official painter of the Navy.
The Fair reserves an important place for comics
In 2024, the 9th art will take a particularly important place at the Brive Book Fair, notably with the inauguration of a new programming and exhibition site – the Espace Professeur Jean-Paul Escande.
This is where an exhibition bringing together around fifteen of Emmanuel Lepage’s most beautiful “maritime plates” will be presented.
In addition, around forty comic book authors will be present for signings at the Fair, 17 of whom will be invited by the City of Brive as part of the programme.
On the program: around ten conferences, new meeting formats (comic book concert, manga masterclass), workshops. Four authors will meet schoolchildren, middle school students and high school students in Brive.

A four-handed drawing session
On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Futuropolis editions, Emmanuel Lepage will participate in an anniversary meeting, a highlight of the comic book program, alongside another emblematic author of the publishing house. The two authors will offer a four-handed live drawing session!
As a special guest, Emmanuel Lepage chose to combine the fields of comics, literature and science by inviting two personalities for meetings: Virginie Ollagnier, comics writer and scriptwriter; and Guillaume Lecointre, professor and researcher at the National Museum of Natural History.
