Faced with global disorder, increasing violence, and uncertainty about the future of our planet, Nicole Gnesotto from Dinard, vice-president of the Jacques Delors Institute and professor emeritus at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, is publishing this Thursday “Choosing the Future” with CNRS, a 248-page book on the world of tomorrow.

“How can we think about this new global chaos? Is democracy in danger? Is war inevitable, particularly in Europe? Is economic globalization under threat? Are technological innovations destructive of our model of society? Is Europe condemned to impotence? What about the South in this new global chessboard?” These are, among others, the questions that structure this essay.

“Humanity can act!” insists the author, one of the best analysts of the European and international political situation. When it comes to choices, “all scenarios are indeed possible, from the worst to the best, from the most conflictual to the most serene,” explains the Dinard native who describes very different futures in her book.

Practical. “Choosing the future. 10 answers on the world to come” by Nicole Gnesotto, published by CNRS. Price: €24. In bookstores from this Thursday, September 19.
