In the last eight, he was beaten by one point by America’s ‘Armless Archer’ Matt Stutzman, after which he rued a poor start.

“I think it was lost on the first end. I shot 9-8-9 and if I hadn’t done that, I would have had him,” said Macqueen.

Williams rues ‘tough one to take’

The women’s wheelchair basketball team lost 62-47 to China in their final group match, finishing second in their group. They will progress to the quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Laurie Williams said after the match: “I think that’s a pretty tough one to take. Going into it, we knew it would be a battle. I think maybe we expected a better outcome than that.

“We know that we’re not in the position we wanted to be in the pool, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t go out and still give it everything in a quarter final.”
