Increasing clouds will be followed by increasing rain chances

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Wednesday morning lows will drop to right around the 60-degree mark, before high temperatures rebound into the low 80s. Anticipate a few more clouds building in as the day progresses.

  • Wednesday and Thursday: Mostly cloudy, cooler
  • Friday -Saturday: First Alert – Rain chances increase as Francine, warm front works inland
  • Tropics: Tropical Storm Francine forecast to make landfall as a hurricane mid-week

By Thursday, mostly cloudy skies are expected with highs only reaching the upper 70s.

First Alert: Tropical moisture will increase our rain chances here at home to wrap up the work week and into the start of the weekend.

Tropical Storm Francine is forecast to make landfall as a hurricane along the coast of Louisiana by Thursday morning and then move inland along the Mississippi River into the end of the week. By the weekend, the then remnants of Francine will be stalled out to our west and rounds of rain will be possible here at home as a front will be draped to our south.

With high pressure anchored to our northeast, there will be a range of rain totals across the Carolinas. Friday and Saturday will be the days with the greatest chance for local rain impacts, with only a few showers possible on Sunday.
