The return of “Télématin” on France 2 promises to be full of changes, particularly in terms of the presentation. While the replacement of Marie Portolano by Flavie Flament was made official some time ago, Thomas Sotto also announced that he was leaving the morning program of the public channel. And it is Julien Arnaud, one of the leading faces of TF1’s news, who will take his place. The journalist has until now been a “joker” in presenting the news on the private channel.

“We were looking for someone who had a lot of journalistic experience, who was able to provide news, who was appreciated by the general public and who got on well with Flavie Flament. Julien ticked all those boxes,” said Alexandre Kara, director of news at France Télévisions.

A departure which therefore constitutes an upheaval for TF1, for whom Julien Arnaud has worked since 2006. Fortunately, the journalist can count on the support of his future ex-colleagues, and in particular that of Anne-Claire Coudray, who presents the news every weekend.

Invited on the show “On refait la télé”, the journalist was questioned on this subject. Télé Loisirs revealed an excerpt from this discussion. “In this profession, inevitably, we are hunted and we want to evolve. He said it very clearly. We were surprised at the time and then we found it logical. They are right to have recruited him, I sent him a little message. We all congratulated him at TF1”, she assured. Anne-Claire Coudray then refuted the rumors of tension within the channel following this departure. “How do you prevent someone from evolving? He is a wild card on TF1, he is leaving for a permanent position, no one can blame him. What I told him is that I hope I will not find him as a wild card opposite me.”

It is François-Xavier Ménage, senior reporter at TF1, who will take on the role of joker for the presentation of the news.
