Play Nostalgie welcomes new colleague and new father Sean Dhondt: “I wrote a song for my daughter”

A new voice on Play Nostalgie Monday morning. Sean Dhondt (40) will now take over the morning block every weekday from Marcia Bwarody, who can now be heard on the radio after Dhondt. And that is not the only innovation in Sean’s morning routine. At the end of August he became the father of daughter Mae, who is also the muse of a new single that will be released at the end of this month.

Every weekday Sean Dhondt will be presenter on Play Nostalgie between 10 and 13. On his first day at work he was already a guest of his colleague Bart De Raes, where Sean’s radio skills were tested with the announcement of Donna Summer’s Hot stuff.

The radio host himself had some musical news to share right away. “I wrote a song for my daughter Mae,” Sean says in the studio. “I will announce it to the world at the end of September.” That is exactly one month after he and his girlfriend Maithé sent the happy news into the world.

‘The Traitors’

Sean is also currently appearing on the game show The traitors on VTM. “The first foot in that castle was very exciting,” he says. “Just like the first time on the radio, you don’t know what’s going to happen. It was a really cool adventure, but a mindfuck”, it sounds.

Lifestyle and sports doctor Servaas Bingé immediately had a good connection with Sean, it turns out. “We immediately clicked because of our similar taste in music,” the doctor tells Play Nostalgie. “We mainly talked about music, not about suspects or theories.”

“Because music was the binding factor, I immediately thought, maybe that guy can be trusted,” he continues. “Although I did think that he often refilled my glass (laughs).”

Sean just lets the adventure come to him. “There were people who came with books and theories in advance. I think, I’ll see.”
