MIchèle George, on Best of 8, won the Grand Prix Individual Para Dressage Test at the Paris Paralympic Games on Wednesday in Versailles. She won the 7th Belgian medal, and the 4th on Wednesday, in these Games.

The Ostend native, who lives in Waregem, obtained 76.692% of the points and was ahead of the German Regine Mispelkamp (73.231) and the British Sophie Wells (72.257).

At 50 years old, she won her 6th Paralympic title and the 4th consecutive in this individual Test after London (2012) and Rio (2016) with Rainman, and Tokyo (2021) already with Best of 8. She also won the Freestyle title in 2012 and 2021. The four-time world champion will compete in the Freestyle event on Saturday, September 7 (from 10:57 a.m.).

Kevin Van Ham, riding Eros Van Ons Heem, took 6th place with a score of 69.692 and also qualified for the freestyle on Saturday. It will bring together the top eight of the Test. He finished 7th in the individual Test in Tokyo.

Michèle George brings the Belgian medal tally to seven at the Paris Paralympic Games. She offers a 2nd title after Maxime Carabin in the 400m T52 in para-athletics. Ewout Vromant won two silver medals (para-cycling pursuit and time trial C2), Maxime Hordies also took silver (para-cycling time trial MH1). Peter Genyn won a bronze medal (para-athletics, 200m T51) as did Tim Celen (para-cycling time trial T1-T2).

Table tennis player Laurens Devos (MS9) is already assured of winning a medal after reaching the semi-finals of his competition on Wednesday.
