ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Not until the unofficial end to summer will relief from the heat arrive. Until then, Thursday through Sunday, highs low-upper 90s and feeling hotter near 105°-110° through the weekend. Maybe a passing shower or two otherwise mostly dry.

On Labor Day hot 90s with some relief from scattered showers and storms but not a washout. More clouds and widespread rain Tuesday through Thursday ends the heat wave as highs drop into the 80s and lows into the 60s.

In the tropics, an area of interest in the east central Atlantic has been given a 20% chance of tropical development over the next 7 days. Also, SE of the Bahamas is another area which for now has a 0% probability. We’re watching as the peak of the hurricane season approaches September 10.
