Tonight is Mawlid Kandili… Mawlid Kandili, the birth night of the Prophet of Islam, Hz. Muhammad, will be observed throughout the Islamic world tonight.
The Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Cyprus Foundations Administration had organized a visit to the Hala Sultan Tekke in Larnaca with a group of 600 people the day before on the occasion of Mevlid Kandili.

President of the Republican Assembly, Zorlu Töre, published a message on the occasion of Mevlid Kandili.
In his customary message, Töre noted that Mawlid Kandili is one of the exceptional days when Muslims can take refuge in Allah, the possessor of unlimited forgiveness and mercy, and seize the opportunity to be purified from sins and attain divine grace and abundance.
Töre used the following expressions in his message:
“On such blessed days, we should be more aware of our social responsibility and come together in solidarity and cooperation. Let us not forget to pray for our brothers in our homeland Turkey and for our Muslim brothers who are suffering and torment all over the world. I wish that the spiritual climate in which this door of opportunity has been opened will be a cure for the souls that have been overwhelmed by the troubles of the age and for the hearts that have narrowed due to the neglect of spiritual life. I congratulate the Mawlid Kandili of the entire Islamic world and pray to Allah that it will be a means for the peace, tranquility and happiness of all humanity and the forgiveness of all believers.”
