The two singer-songwriters shared the tasks to create a beautiful ballad with nostalgic overtones: “Son âme d’enfant”. The text that accompanies the cover visual of the single states: “With her words and his music.”
A creative duo
“Our soul is a precious stone. It does not deteriorate, it remains intact, whatever our age, whatever the trials. This song tells the story of our child souls, how they resist everything, how they keep us standing and how at every moment of our lives we can hear the drum of their heart beating and rediscover the taste of freedom,” it is specified.
The cover of the single is a painting in the style of a painting by the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt. It shows Pascal Obispo (sunglasses on his eyes) and Carla Bruni (a vahine flower in her hair) emerging from a background with colorful patterns in ochre tones. “Pascal Obispo / Carla Bruni / Son âme d’enfant” is printed in fine white lettering. For this first duet, the two artists are accompanied “by two great musicians from jazz, Fred Nardin and Max Pinto (with whom Pascal Obispo has been collaborating for three years)”, states the press release.
The single has been available on YouTube since Thursday, September 12, and Pascal Obispo’s fans have expressed their satisfaction. The critics are enthusiastic. “I find this song sweet, it gives off a lot of emotion and sensitivity… We feel the time passing… and these two voices blend together perfectly… Very beautiful,” writes one. “A magnificent song filled with emotion that hasn’t left me since this morning,” enthuses another.
But Pascal Obispo does even more! Not only does he unveil this magnificent duo, but he also announces a new album.

“His Child’s Soul” is, in fact, announced as the first single from the album. The Archipelago of Sequelswhich Pascal Obispo will release in November. “Ten tracks, including eight duets with exclusively inspiring female artists,” states the press release. Nolwenn Leroy and Isabelle Boulay are among those that the singer of “Plus que tout au monde” invited to accompany him for this surprise album.
The artist had indeed kept the secret well. While his audience had been worried about him this summer due to health problems that had forced him to take a break from his very busy concert schedule, Pascal Obispo had reassured them… but had said nothing about this album in preparation. This single is therefore happy news for worried fans.
If Carla Bruni is back in the news with this significant collaboration, she is taking advantage of her invitation to the media to emphasize the fight that is now close to her heart: early screening for breast cancer.
