Taylor Swift has plenty to celebrate after taking home seven awards at MTV’s Video Music Awards. After winning Video of the Year, the VMA’s top award, she thanked some of the people who made her music video for “Fortnight” possible — a list that included her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. In her acceptance speech for Video of the Year, the solo artist with the most career VMA wins gushed over Kelce. “When I’d finish a take, and I’d say cut, and we’d be done with that take, I’d always just hear someone like cheering and like ‘whoo’ from across the studio,” Swift said. “And that one person was my boyfriend, Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic.” Kelce, who is currently preparing for a matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals, was unable to attend the VMAs. The tight end did make his support for Swift known in the most recent episode of his podcast “New Heights.’ “Hopefully Taylor can walk away with a few, she’s nominated for about 10 of those things. Hopefully she can walk away with some moon men,” Kelce said. She also doubled down on her desire to see fans vote in the 2024 presidential election. Her speech came approximately 24 hours after she announced her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris. “If you are over 18, please register to vote for something else that’s very important coming up,” she said. Swift won 7 of the 12 VMAs she was nominated for on Wednesday. The pop star made her VMA debut in 2008 when she was nominated for Best New Artist.
