And the winner is: MAKSIM & Hannah Mae!

The Summer Hit 2024 goes to a duo: Flemish Maksim Stojanac and Dutch singer-songwriter Hannah Mae share the prize for their duet ‘Ik wil dat je liegt’. They react with great joy and astonishment. They decide to share the trophy in “co-parenthood”.

Last finalist Aaron Blommaert can win Summer Hit for ‘Egotrip’

Aaron Blommaert is the tenth and final finalist of Zomerhit. His song ‘Egotrip’ is a catchy and danceable song, which is similar to ‘Noodgeval’ by the Dutch group Goldband. Blommaert convinces the audience in Blankenberge as the first artist of the evening to sitdown to participate. In his all-white outfit, he stands out even more among his 4 dancers.

Sam Gooris has a special act, together with sign language interpreter Pascal

Sam Gooris makes a bid for Zomerhit in duo: on stage, sign language interpreter translates his song ‘Arrivederci’ live for the audience. Gooris wants everyone in the audience to be able to understand his song about saying goodbye. It must be said: interpreter Pascal – in a cheerful pink vest – also conveys Gooris’ enthusiasm very well.

Sam Gooris’ Italian is limited to ‘Grazie mille’, apart from ‘Arrevederci’, the singer had to admit on Radio2. If he wins Zomerhit, he can’t stick around at the afterparty, because Gooris has a performance in Boortmeerbeek later tonight.

Because it can & Average Rob immerse Blankenberge in a tricolor atmosphere with their ‘On met la patate’

The tricolere song of the summer of 2024 is ‘On met la patate’: the supporters song that Hebben het kan & Average Rob made to encourage all Belgian top athletes during the European Football Championship and the Olympic Games. The song was ubiquitous, just like the duo itself.

From the Main Stage of Tomorrowland and the opening night at Pukkelpop, to the official party on our National Day for our royal family to the celebration of the Olympic medal winners on the Grand Place in Brussels: Because it can & Average Rob were there everywhere with their ‘shtamp’. It has to be said: their multilingual supporters’ song creates the most atmosphere so far in Blankenberge. Will they give their memorable summer of 2024 a little extra shine, with the Summer Hit Trophy as the icing on the cake?

In addition to MAKSIM, former ‘#LikeMe’ star Camille is also in the running for the Summer Hit

In addition to Maksim Stojanac, Summer Finalist Camille also has a ‘#LikeMe’ past. With her sugary sweet and bright pink dance act at ‘Oeh la la’ she literally brings fireworks to the Summer Hit Stage in Blankenberge. Dancers, show and a very sing-along chorus: ‘Oeh la la’ is a classic Camille song.

Dutch Hannah Mae and MAKSIM make a bid for Summer Hit with duet ‘I want you to lie’

After Pommelien Thijs last year, Maksim Stojanac can once again win the Summer Hit this year, an artist with a past in the series ‘#LikeMe’. Stojanac joins forces as MAKSIM with Dutch singer-songwriter Hannah Mae for the duet ‘Ik wil dat je liegt’. For Mae, it is her second duet with a Flemish artist, after her collaboration ‘Wat wil je van mij’ with Metejoor.

If the duo makes it, Stojanac promised “very special news” on Radio 2.

Bart Peeters in the running for Summer Hit with cover of his own song

In addition to Laura Tesoro, Bart Peeters is also in the running for the Summer Hit with a cover. His summer song ‘Swimming in the sea’ is an adaptation of ‘Swimming in the pool’ by The Radio’s, the group Peeters was part of before his solo career. Peeters originally covered ‘Swimming in the sea’ for the section ‘A capella-la’ in the Radio 2 programme ‘Goeiemorgen morgen’.

If he wins Zomerhit, Peeters wants to put his money where his mouth is and actually go swimming in the North Sea, he revealed on Radio 2. We wonder if he will keep that promise.

Günther Neefs bids for Summer Hit with ‘Summer Day’

Günther Neefs has made a song about a sunny day at the seaside with ‘Zomerse dag’. In theory, ideal Summer Hit material. Although Neefs had to admit on Radio 2 that he had forgotten to vote for himself.

Whether he wins Zomerhit or not: the summer of 2024 has been special for Neefs anyway. He performed for the first time on the main stage of Maanrock in ‘his’ Mechelen. A memorable moment for Neefs.
