The IRM has placed 7 provinces (the two Flanders, Hainaut, Namur, the two Brabants, the province of Antwerp) and the Brussels region on yellow warning between 7pm this evening and 3am this Sunday. The FPS Interior has activated the number 1722 dedicated to non-urgent interventions by the fire brigade.

A depression is moving from the Bay of Biscay to the North Sea. This depression is the cause of the heat that has come to us this Saturday, but it is also bringing us thunderstorms. Cumulus clouds will be more and more numerous from the coast to the centre and at the end of the afternoon, we could already see some showers between the coast and Hainaut before the arrival of this rainy-stormy area in the evening.

It is between 8 pm and 11 pm that the intensity of the storms will be significant, especially in the west of the country. Even if no one will escape the precipitation, it is in the west and the center that the storms will be the most virulent with gusts, hail and cumulative rainfall sometimes exceeding 20 liters of water per square meter in a short time in places.
