The United States is closely monitoring the situation between India and Pakistan after the missile strikes by India against targets located in Pakistan and the cashmere administered by Pakistan, Secretary of State Rubio said on Tuesday.
Rubio also expressed his hope for a quick settlement in a message published on X.
“I echo the words of President Donald Trump expressed earlier during the day, hoping that it ends quickly, and I will continue to dialogue with Indian and Pakistani leaders in favor of a peaceful resolution,” he said, in reference to the remarks made earlier by Donald Trump.
Trump had approached the subject during a press briefing, stressing the importance of a de -escalation between the two nuclear powers.
Asked about his reaction to attacks, Trump replied: “It’s a shame. We have just heard about it when entering the oval office.”
-“I just hope it will end very quickly,” he added.
This statement comes after India has announced that it has launched missile strikes as part of what it called “Sindoor operation”, targeting sites in Pakistan and azad cashmere administered by Pakistan.
This escalation between the two neighbors with nuclear weapons comes after an attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, in the cashmere administered by India, which left 26 dead.
India attributed the attack to Pakistan, evoking cross -border links. Islamabad categorically denied any involvement.
