Euro University Sport in Milan: Gold for the Creusot Cheerleading team and money for girls in Beach Volley

The colors of Creusot students, at IUT and Condorcet, shone in northern Italy.From May 1 to 4, more than 50 students from the Creusot university site went to Italy to participate in the 23rd edition of Euro Milano. They participated in the Cheerleading, Beachvolley, Volleyball, Basketball and Futsal events. It was the final international sports competition for this academic year – a last opportunity to shine, which our Creusotins knew how to seize by winning gold and silver!
A major student sports tournament, Euro Milano gathered more than 1,000 students this year from around twenty countries. Since its first participation in 2022, the Creusot university site at Bourgogne Europe is one of the podium regulars, winning one or more medals each year.
During this 2025 edition, our Cheerleading team reconquered its place as a champion, after two years in second position. She thus reiterates her 2022 feat! The Beachvolley women’s team is not to be outdone, and wins the silver medal after 4 brilliant games in 2 winning sets.
Beaten in the quarterfinals, the women’s basketball teams, female futsal and male volleyball did not play beautiful games, and won several victories. The team of male futsal has for its part arrived in 11th position out of 18, while that of male Beachvolley bowed in the group phase.
This Milanese getaway marked the last international competition for the year 2024-2025 for Creusotins, after the inter-university world championships in Rome and the Studens’ Games de Lausanne. A sunny conclusion rich in emotions, which already gives way to a new challenge: that of the end -of -year exams, which start this week in certain training courses!
