This year, the 679th edition of Saint-Yves will be very special with the announced departure of Father Guillaume Caous and the retransmission of the Grand Messe on France 2 in the program “The Day of the Lord”.
“There will be room for everyone,” insists Guillaume Caous. The doors of the south porch, Place du Martray, will open at 9:45 am for people wishing to attend mass from inside the Saint-Tugdual cathedral.
700 places available inside
The 700 seats available will also be so for this special high mass. It will start at 11 a.m. but will be shortened to adapt to the television format. The entire mass and the very beginning of the procession (around 11:50 am), at the exit of the cathedral, will be broadcast live; This is a very first.
The retransmission will be accompanied by four testimonies: a Breton whose identity is for the moment unknown, Father Guillaume Caous, Véronique Froc, of the parish animation team and Thomas Lotout, bombarding bell and Breton music composer.
-A large screen outside
A large screen will also be installed outside the cathedral on the southern flank of the choir, near the main porch and the priests will come to give communion to the faithful who could not benefit from seats in the cathedral.
A hundred volunteers from the parish will ensure the smooth running of this forgiveness and around thirty technicians from France 2 will work for live retransmission.
