Craft products in Marrakech are growing growing abroad, a performance illustrated by the 24% increase in exports during the first quarter of the year, compared to the same period of the previous year.
This progression is mainly attributed to the increase in exports of carpets, copper products, as well as jewelry and jewelry items, according to data from the regional department of crafts and the social and solidarity economy of Marrakech-Safi.
Carpets, ceramic and stone articles, as well as copper objects represent more than half of the craft exports of the ocher city. With 30%of the total, carpets position themselves at the top of exports, followed by ceramics and stone items (15%) and copper (13%).
The Regional Directorate of Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy of Marrakech-Safi notes that carpet exports displayed a notable increase of 79%, followed by copper objects (+66%) and jewelry products (+58%), compared to the first quarter of 2024.
The United States is the first destination for Marrakech craft products, with a share of 44%of exports in the first quarter of 2025, followed by France (18%) and Spain (11%).
