Ukrainians do not believe in the three -day truce offered by Moscow

Volodymyr Zelensky believes that will not respect the three- ceasefire proposed by Vladimir Putin for the Russian commemorations of 9-May. If the negotiations lean towards a frost freezing in the south of Ukraine, the inhabitants close to the fighting are of the same opinion as their president.

Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed a three-day truce that coincides with the Russian commemorations of 9-May. His Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia will respect this ceasefire.

In Orikhiv, in the south of Ukraine near the fighting, the inhabitants do not believe in the cease-. Despite the bombs that continue to fall around their home, these Ukrainians do not want to give in to Putin.

“It was not we who attacked Putin”

Three bombs landed in Mikhaelo’s garden. “Look, a crater, a second and a third there,” shows this resident of Orikhiv to the BFMTV camera.

Despite the death that strikes a little closer every day, this septuagenarian refuses any territorial concession in Putin.

“I do not agree with that, he would simply keep everything, but who would accept that? Zelensky? No, anyway even if he announced that to the people, nobody would agree,” said Mikhaelo

Raïa, his wife, Shrapnel in her hand, does not believe possible peace. The Russians occupy the neighboring village within five kilometers.

“To freeze the line, it would just allow Putin to bring together more troops, that’s all, to raise more weapons and then tackle us,” comments Raïa. “Talk to my husband, because I’m going to cry,” she adds.

“It was not us who attacked Putin, he came. If someone enters your home and tells you ‘now your wife is mine’, what would you do? You will try to put it out by all means,” lambasted Mikhaelo.

A ceasefire to rearm

In Orikhiv, one of the too many cities bled by the throes of war, we hold the same speech everywhere.

“It’s been three years since our soldiers are fighting, how could we freeze everything now? It would be like abandoning them,” said Luba, a resident.

For Lilia, a ceasefire should only be used to rearm. “If the conflict stops, I hope ours will regain strength, build underground factories and start making drones to reach the Kremlin and to Siberia.”

While waiting for a hypothetical cease-fire that does not come, the Ukrainians install nets to protect civilians and soldiers from incessant attacks of Russian drones, in this war of which here we do not see the end.
