The permanent representative of Russia with the UN said Thursday that Germany would be directly involved in the war in Ukraine if it delivered long -range missiles Taurus to kyiv.
“Yes, it would be,” replied Vassily Nebenzia to Anadolu, asked about the possibility that such a decision makes Germany a direct part of the conflict.
He accused Germany as well as several other Western nations of being already involved in the war by supporting Ukraine.
“These countries are carrying out a war against Russia using supplementary forces. Delivering Taurus missiles would be a new step in climbing the conflict,” he said.
The Taurus missiles, with a range of more than 500 kilometers, are renowned for their precision to hit fortified targets such as bridges and command bunkers in depth.
Regarding the American threat of using the military force against Iran in the event of the failure of negotiations on its nuclear program, Nebenzia recalled that Washington publicly displayed a preference for a political solution – a position shared by Moscow.
-“A ceasefire is not realistic at this stage”
Referring to a partial cease-fire concerning energy infrastructure, agreed between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump following a telephone call on March 18, Nebenzia said Moscow supported this initiative and had ordered his forces to comply.
He also pointed out that Russia had respected this proposal from the start, while Ukraine, despite its displayed support, continued its attacks daily.
According to him, Ukraine has led more than 120 attacks, including against Russian energy facilities.
“Ukraine has not respected the partial cease-fire concerning energy infrastructure. Consequently, talking about ceasefire has no meaning at this stage,” he said.
– “We want European countries to stop arming Ukraine”
Nebenzia considered that Ukrainian violations demonstrated that kyiv does not seek peace. He called “Western supporters” and European countries to put pressure on Ukraine to end attacks aimed at energy infrastructure.
He also insisted on the fact that European countries had to stop arming Ukraine, while stressing that no measure had yet been taken in this direction.
According to him, many European countries are involved in the war.
“European countries are not talking about peace. This is indifferent to them. They continue to push Ukraine towards the abyss,” he concluded.
