A new CEO from Orange

(Boursier.com) — Eutelsat appointed Jean-François Fallacher to the post of managing director. This appointment was decided at a meeting of the board of directors held on May 4 and will be effective on June 1.

Jean-François Fallacher joined Eutelsat after a long career in Orange where he was recently executive vice-president and managing director of Orange France. Before that, he managed Orange operations in several countries including , and . Previously, Jean-François Fallacher has held several positions in the fields of research and development, sales and operations, in particular as director of the Wanadoo exploitation in the Netherlands and managing director of Sofrecom, a consulting company specializing in the telecommunications sector. Of nationality, Jean-François Fallacher is a graduate of the Polytechnic School and the National School of Telecommunications in Paris.

He replaces Eva Berneke, who has managed the company since January 2022 and presided over some of his most important strategic and operational achievements. These include the merger and integration of OneWeb in 2023 to create the only leo/geo satellite operator in the , its positioning as one of the main players in the IRIS Multi-Orbite constellation provided by the EU, as well as the sale of its passive terrestrial segment, the operation of this type among satellite operators.
