Elton John et Brandi Carlile launched a joint initiative to compensate for the heavy consequences of Budget reductions imposed by the Trump administration in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Their campaign aims to fill the gaps left by the drop in public funding, based on their respective foundations: l’Elton John AIDS Foundation et la Looking Out Foundation.
“Our mission is more important than ever”
While their common album, Who Believes In Angelswas released earlier this month, the two artists extend their collaboration on a humanitarian ground. For Elton John, the urgency is clear:
If we do not act quickly, from decades of progress in the global fight against HIV could be reduced to nothing, creating a health crisis that we have the means to avoid.
The British singer insists on the vital nature of this mobilization, welcoming the involvement of Brandi Carlile, whom he describes as “A collaborator, a wonderful artist and a dear friend who shares [sa] Vision of a world where HIV care is priority and protected. “
