Christian Pulisic has urged Milan to build on their recent form, which has seen them win two of their last three Serie A matches and secure a place in the Coppa Italia final at the expense of Inter.
The Rossoneri head to Genoa for their second consecutive away league fixture, following a 2-0 victory over Venezia in which the USMNT star opened the scoring with his 10th Serie A goal of the season.
While the Coppa Italia final against Bologna may appear to be Milan’s only major objective left this season—given the gap separating them from the European spots—Pulisic emphasised that maintaining momentum going into that clash is ‘important’.
Pulisic: Coppa Italia final ‘matters more’ for Milan, but Genoa clash also ‘important’
“Today it’s important to keep the momentum going,” Pulisic told DAZN before the game.
“The final matters more, of course, but today is important too.
“In the last few games, we haven’t conceded many goals — we need to keep it that way.”
Coach Sergio Conceiçao made the surprise decision to leave Rafael Leao out of the starting lineup at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, opting instead for Ruben Loftus-Cheek in his place.
