Tunisian Maroua Bouzayani won the gold medal in the 1500 m feminine during the final day of the Arab Senior Athletics Championships organized in Oran, Algeria.
She imposed herself in 4: 12.16, ahead of the Algerian ABIR Raffes (silver, 4: 14.10) and his compatriot Rihab Dhahri (Bronze, 4: 15.13).
This is the second Bouzayani medal after the money obtained over 800 m, while Dhahri had already won the 3000m steeple gold the day before.
For her part, Dorra Mahfoudhi won the gold at the pole jump, in front of her compatriot Mariem Srasra, bronze medalist.
Nada Cheroudi also distinguished himself by winning gold at the weight throwing with a 14.72 m jet. The other Tunisian in the running, Ghofrane Hammadi, won bronze (13.25 m).
Nourhen Hermi obtained the silver medal over 400 m hurdles (1: 01.46), preceded by the Algerian Chaima Ouanis (gold, 1: 01.05).
The Tunisian women’s team also won the money at the 4 × 100 m relay, with a time of 4: 00.65.
In men, Abdessalem Laayouni added a silver medal over 800 m (1: 51.13) to that of bronze won over 1500 m, behind the Algerian Haythem Chenitef (gold, 1: 50.83).
Thus Tunisia totals, after five days of competition 19 medals (7 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze), ranking 2nd in the final table of the medals behind Algeria.
