After showing us her new dress a few months ago, Hyundai finally unveiled the technical details of the new 2026 Palisade. Changes that should allow him to seduce an even wider clientele.
While our last getaway in South Korea could suggest the abandonment of the V6 in favor of a 4 -cylinder, this will not be the case. The petrol palisade with this mechanics are all intended for other markets than ours.
For North America, the Palisade will keep an atmospheric V6. But instead of the 3.8 -liter block, it is now a 3.5 -liter engine (similar to that of the carnival) which was retained. It displays figures of power and torque identical to the Kia van (287 horsepower, 260 LB-PI) which are slightly lower than the outgoing model (291 hp/262 LB-PI. That said, the difference should not be huge for driving.

Hyundai has also decided to keep an 8 -speed conventional gearbox, a more relevant choice than a double clutch transmission, especially for towing. In this regard, be aware that the Palisade equipped with the V6 can still draw 5,000 LB.
This is the hybrid!
The big novelty under the cover of the Palisade is the arrival of a hybrid version. A model that should delight those looking for a vehicle of this format but who still want to limit their fuel consumption. The chosen engine is a 2.5 -liter turbocharged 4 cylinder, associated with an electric engine.

This powertrain promises more energetic performance than the V6 with 329 horsepower and 339 LB-PI combined. Automatic transmission does not have 8 reports but 6. This is also a conventional gearbox, which is a good thing. The towing capacity decreases to 4,000 lb. This is the hybrid palisade halfway between the Toyota Highlander Hybrid (3,500 lb) and the large hybrid Highlander Max (5,000 lb).
The consumption figures have not yet been announced, but we already know that the two engines can operate on ordinary petrol, even the 2.5 liter turbo hybrid.
A little longer and slightly more spacious
The new palisade has been enlarged by 6.5 cm, and displays a barely longer wheelbase (7 cm). According to Hyundai this benefits the interior space, even if the space did not seem radically different to us by climbing in the passenger compartment.

In the trunk, the volume is now 540 liters with all the seats used, 1,310 liters with the third folded row, and 2,455 liters when you want a maximum carrying capacity. It is slightly better than the outgoing model (509 to 2,447 liters).
Six versions and a new off -road model
Hyundai has already announced the distribution of versions according to the motorization. Hybrid models will be exclusively high -end models (Luxury and Ultimate Calligraphy). Those who opt for the V6 will be able to benefit from four choices: Preferred, Trend, Xtr Pro and Ultimate Calligraphy.
Within the Palisade range, the arrival of an XRT Pro model dedicated to off -road is a notable novelty. Depending on the trend started by many competitors (Ford Explorer Timberline, Honda Pilot Trailsport, Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek, etc.) The vehicle is clearly different from other more road versions.

Technically, the XRT Pro Palisade differs from other models by adopting an electronic limited sliding differential derived from models N, a ground clearance noted with an inch (25 mm) and slightly larger crossing angles at the front and at the rear. 18 -inch rims are also specific as well as off -road tires.

Outside, the main changes are the lightly smoked headlights, a different front grid, orange stowage hooks, plastic insertions covering the bottom of the doors, a revised rear bumper incorporating stowage hooks and a standard trailer attachment, as well as black insertion around the license plate.

In the passenger compartment, the changes are more subtle, with the XRT logos on headrests and the dashboard as well as a distinctive drawing on the back of the seats. The vehicle also incorporates an off-road mode which benefits from an interface indicating the angles taken by the vehicle, the temperature of the different fluids and uses exterior cameras to offer a panoramic view in order to see what is happening in front of you.
The Hyundai Palisade 2026 with the V6 engine will be on sale from the summer of 2025. For hybrid models, it will be necessary to wait a bit because the latter will not arrive at Canadian dealerships before fall.
