As of February 27, 2022, three days after the start of the invasion, residents of the city of Ivankiv said that the Museum of History and Local Art was the building targeted by the enemy. This strengthens the suspicion of a planned erasure strategy of Ukrainian culture. This film follows the perilous journey of professionals determined to save their heritage, but also the initiatives of the inhabitants, resistant to their own way, to protect a part of their identity.

To grasp the extent of this cultural battle, we will see how the rereading of history has also become an essential fact of this conflict.

Faced with Russian negationism, Ukrainians have undertaken a vast dismantling of Russian and Soviet monuments and symbols in order to affirm their independence.

Followed by a debate presented by Rebecca Fitoussi in “a world in doc”, with:

  • Nadia Sollogoub: Senator (Centrist ) of Nièvre
  • Enki Bilal: comic book author and director
  • Irena Karpa: artist and former first secretary of the Ukraine Embassy in France
  • Negri: Researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences of Politics (ENS Paris-Saclay)
