Chinese President Xi Jinping said Thursday that China and Russia owe, at a time when the world is entering a new period of turbulence and transformations, maintain strategic resolution and coordination.
He made these remarks during a conversation around a tea with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in the office of the president, at the Kremlin in Moscow.
According to Xi Jinping, as long as China and Russia maintain their strategic resolution and coordination, no force can prevent them from achieving their respective development and revitalization, no force can shake the solid foundations of long -standing friendship between the two peoples, and no force can slow the dominant trend towards a multipolar world and economic globalization.
He also declared himself ready to stay in close communication with Vladimir Putin to draw the course of Sino-Russian relations and make contributions to the progress of global governance.
For his part, Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia and China have always been held together in solidarity and have supported each other, forging an indestructible friendship.
The Russian president added that he was willing to maintain close strategic communication with his Chinese counterpart, to provide strategic advice for the development of bilateral relations, to respond jointly to the challenges of a complex international landscape, to deepen the complete strategic coordination, to safeguard the common interests of the two countries and to promote the development of a more equitable, more democratic and multipolar world.
The two heads of state also exchanged views of the Ukrainian crisis and other questions. On this subject, Xi Jinping said that China pleads and remains attached to the vision of common, global, cooperative and sustainable security worldwide, and believes that it is important to take the legitimate security concerns of all countries seriously and to eliminate the profound causes of the Ukrainian crisis.
China, he said, is favorable to all the efforts conducive to peace and hopes that a fair, sustainable and binding peace agreement on the Ukrainian crisis, accepted by all the parties concerned, is concluded through dialogue.
Vladimir Putin praised the objective and impartial position of China on the political regulations of the Ukrainian crisis, ensuring that Russia is ready to engage in peace talks without conditions and hopes to reach a fair and lasting peace agreement.
