The two events occurred around 3:45 am on the night of Sunday to Monday. The authorities intervened following an appeal to 911 reporting a fire alarm in a bar on avenue Dollard, near Chartrand Street. The Montreal Fire Service has mastered the start of this fire.
When they arrived on site, the police were informed of a second start of fire in another bar located on the same avenue, about 250 meters further, near the intersection of Lithuania Street.
Damage in the two bars are minors and no injuries were reported by the authorities.
-According to first information from the SPVM, the circumstances surrounding these two fires “are similar”.
“The suspects would have arrived aboard a vehicle, would have shattered a shop window before launching an incendiary object and fleeing,” said SPVM spokesperson Véronique Dubuc.
A security perimeter was erected in both places and the survey was transferred to the SPVM criminal fire section. Investigators will analyze the premises during the morning.
