The case of more than 125 billion CFA francs in dubious financial transactions, revealed by the National Cell Treatment of Financial Information (CENTIF), takes a new turn. According to information from the observer in its edition on Monday, April 28, the financial prosecutor’s office summoned Amadou Sall, the eldest son of former president Macky Sall.
The summons is set for May 7. According to the newspaper, it relates to a transaction of 10 billion CFA francs. Part of this sum, made up of cash vouchers, would have passed through the account of Woodrose Investment LTD, hosted at the NSIA bank and managed by Ndèye Seynabou Ndiaye. The latter is also targeted in the introductory indictment of the prosecution. According to the elements of the Centive’s investigation, Ndèye Seynabou Ndiaye would have established a proxy for the benefit of Amadou Sall for the management of the account, thus suggesting that he would be the economic beneficiary.
For the time being, it is unknown if Amadou Sall will respond to the summons of justice. Since the end of his presidential mandate, Macky Sall has lived in Morocco with his family. The entourage of Amadou Sall says that the amount implicated would come from the sale of land offered by his father, an operation which would have been carried out by the deputy mayor Farba Ngom. This sale would explain, according to them, the transfers recorded between the accounts of Woodrose Investment LTD and those of Farba Ngom. The observer also indicates that, as part of this same case, Amadou Bâ as well as a certain Karim Mbacké are also summoned.
In addition, the financial prosecutor’s office has already requested a warrant for eight suspects, including Farba Ngom and Tahirou Sarr, as well as against X. The latter are prosecuted for the association of criminals, swindle and embezzlement of public funds, as other or accomplices, and are currently placed in preventive detention.
