The Norwegian Casper Ruud eliminated this Thursday the ex-world world Daniil Medvedev to climb into the last square of the Masters 1000.
The Norwegian Casper Ruud (15th) eliminated, this Thursday, the Russian Daniil Medvedev (10th) in the quarterfinals of the Masters 1000 of Madrid in two sets 6-3, 7-5.
The first set was one-way for the Norwegian, with a 3-1 station wagon on the Medvedev service. While led 0-30 in the next game, the Russian committed three direct faults allowing Ruud to lead 4-1.
At 5-3, Ruud served for the first set, which he won easily on a winning service.
In the second round, Medvedev was more successful in the service and the game while Ruud continued on his momentum.

Casper Ruud, 26, has 123 victories on clay (35 losses) since 2020, more than any other player in activity of the ATP circuit.
In the semi-finals, he will face the Czech Jakub Mensik (23rd) or the Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo (21st), a fall of Alexander Zverev, N.2 world, in eighth.
