


Romain Arneodo marked the history of Monegasque tennis by winning the Rolex Monte-Carlo masters for the first time. Romain Arneodo’s victory in double, with his French partner Manuel Guinard, was followed with great attention by Prince Albert II, seated next to his cousine Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy in the stands. The Monegasque sovereign could not contain his joy and jumped from his headquarters at the end of the match.

Romain Arneodo becomes the first to win the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters for the Principality
This Sunday, April 13, 2025, Prince Albert II of Monaco went to Monte-Carlo Country Club, located in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin to attend the two finals of the Monegasque tennis tournament. To attend the final of the Double of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, Prince Albert II was seated next to his cousin, Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, president of Monte-Carlo Country Club.

Playing this double gentlemen’s final, the British players Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash confronted the Roman duo Arneodo and Manuel Guinard. Romain Arneodo, born in Cannes, has been a member of the Monegasque Tennis Federation since 2011 and has played for the Principality since 2013. Romain Arneodo and Manuel Guinard won the tournament 1/6-7/6-10/8. Prince Albert II cleared his fists and jumped from his seat during the end point.

This is the second title in ATP tournament won by the player who defends the Monegasque colors. In 2019, Romain Arneodo won a double ATP tournament, with his Monegasque compatriot Hugo Neys. He had already reached the final of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters in 2023 in double but he and his Austrian partner had bowed to their opponents.

Prince Albert II also attended the final of the single gentlemen tournament this Sunday. The Monegasque head of state was then accompanied by his wife, Princess Charlène. The tournament was won by Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz who beat the Italian Lorenzo Musetti.
