When we talk about early passion and talent, Valentin and Imanol perfectly embody these qualities.
These two young prodigies of the Muret Tennis Club already display ambitions worthy of the greatest champions. Valentin discovered this discipline almost by chance. While accompanying his big brother to football, his attention was captured by neighboring tennis courts. He was quick to convince his parents to register him. The little yellow ball immediately captured it, and its natural talent quickly manifested itself. The departmental committee was not mistaken by spotting it very early. For his part, Imanol started even younger. From the age of 4, he exchanged bullets with his father. At 6, he joined a club, first carbon, then Muret. What he particularly appreciates is the individual aspect of sport, where each victory, defeat depends only on him.
Both benefit from Martin’s advice today, a young club coach. Their dreams? One day trample the courts of the biggest tournaments, like their idols. For Valentin, it’s Rafael Nadal, left -handed like him. For Imanol, it’s Roger Federer, symbol of elegance and precision.
Their daily life is punctuated by intensive training. Valentin devotes 8 to 10 hours a week to tennis, while Imanol trains between 5 and 6 hours. Added to this are competitions on weekends. A commitment that requires sacrifices, both for them and for their families, in terms of time and budget. Birthdays and family outings sometimes go into the background. But when they talk about tennis, their eyes shine, testifying to their unwavering passion.
The Muret club is recognized for its quality infrastructure. Under the chairmanship of Daniel Van Schendel, the club is experiencing notable growth of its members, testifying to its dynamism and its attractiveness.
In 2024, Valentin and Imanol, accompanied by their comrade Alban, reached the final of the League during the departmental championship. A performance that augurs a promising future for these young talents. Perhaps, in a few years, we will see them evolve on the courts of Roland-Garros, carrying the colors of the Tennis Club de Muret.
