Fugue at the Adrien-Jeandin school: a father denounces the attitude of the management

After the anxiety, the anger for the father of one of the small runners of the primary establishment Adrien-Jeandin, in Thônex. On April 7, his 4-year-old son and a comrade took the move during the afternoon recess. According to Valentin, three days after the incident, during a school appointment with his son, long scheduled for the establishment, he is invited to meet the director. “While, since the events, we had never contacted us, I told myself that we were finally going to discuss what had happened, that it was going to apologize.” Not at all, according to the father: “The director scolded me as if I were a kid, she explained to me that everything was the fault of the . I remind you: they are only 4 and a half years old and were under the responsibility of the school, since they went to recess, therefore in school time. ”

Valentin considers the reaction of the manager “mind -blowing”. “I’m angry. Basically, I wanted to see it to simply know what measures could be taken so that all this does not happen again. But there, I rather think about the follow -up to be given to the attitude and of the director. ”

A petition was also launched by a student mother, according to Léman Bleu. The text requires the closure of school lessons to prevent children from going out or a malicious person enters it. Cited by local , the town hall of Thônex notes that it is the only incident in this way in ten years, and recalls that the Préaux is secure, thanks in particular to video surveillance.

Invited to themselves on the excitement of the father and the attitude of the establishment manager, held at the duty of reserve, the Department of Public Instruction (DIP) judges that, during the fugue of toddlers, “confronted with an unusual situation, the management acted with the necessary diligence”. On the alleged remarks of the director, “clarifications are underway”. Finally, the DIP specifies that recreation security is notably ensured by the supervisors, the number of which depends on the school enrollment and the configuration of the courtyard. “We support a vision of schools as safe places, without having to lock all the doors.”
