Infractions against sexual integrity, the dissemination of pornographic content, insults and other remarks emanating from adolescents swarm on the internet. A situation that worries Valais deputies, who request the creation of a cantonal action plan.

(Keystone-ATS) The increase in the number of denunciations in the minor court (+46.2% between 2014 and 2023) and the number of crimes committed in the digital space concern part of the Valais political class.
Several deputies of the center of Haut-Valais asked, Thursday, via a premise, the creation of a cantonal action plan to fight against juvenile delinquency on social networks. The cantonal action plan against harassment, which includes four axes (awareness, prevention, intervention, training and evaluation), could serve as a model.

“In view of the growing importance of social networks in the lives of young people and the rise of crime in this area, it is imperative to define a targeted action plan against the crimes committed in the digital space,” say the postulants. “By adopting a structured, preventive and interdisciplinary approach, the canton of Valais could significantly contribute to reducing juvenile crime in the digital environment. »»
Tacitally validated by the plenum, the premise has been transmitted to the government for response.
