UBS then launched a new offer that passed largely unnoticed. “Based on these conclusions, we have created an entry -level offer that meets all customer needs in this area, with a private and savings account as well as a debit card and a 0 franc prepaid card,” confirms UBS.
It is now official. UBS is positioned on the free accounts market. This is surprising, because the bank has opposed it so far. While the neobancs Yuh, Neon, Revolut and others have long attracted with free savings, the leading financial group has so far been convinced that quality has a price. Account holding costs were requested.
Credit Suisse launched the offensive with its CSX offer, in reaction to the success of digital banks. It was five years ago, with a lot of advertising. Customers have been offered a free account with a payment card. With this entry -level offer, the bank wanted to attract new customers and then convince it to subscribe to its products of 3e pillar or its placement solutions. Difficult to know if the strategy has worked.
What is certain is that the CSX package “All in one” will soon end. It remains to be seen whether for the customers concerned, the transition to the product offered by UBS is interesting.
Not the only advantageous offer
Ralf Beyeler, from the Swiss Moneyland Finance Comparison Service, recommends that it will check if the product offered by UBS corresponds to the needs of customers. “By comparing the offers, we can find another solution which turns out to be more advantageous in terms of costs abroad in particular.”
The free product is not reserved for Credit Suisse customers. It also targets new customers, even if UBS has not announced it with great fanfare.
Is this free offer interesting? According to Moneyland, UBS Key4 in its pure variant – either with debit card and credit card – is one of the most advantageous offers compared to other bank packages. Compared to private accounts with a debit card, it is more advantageous than many conventional banking offers.
A UBS account is generally more expensive than competition offers. Online banks, neobancs, traditional banks, there are many proposals on the market. It remains to compare them all to make your choice.
