Fruit of a vast consultation process, the secondary grid was validated by the Jura government for implementation at the start of the school year in August 2026. The project notably provides for the strengthening of languages ​​and changes in optional courses. Its purpose is to adapt as as possible to the reality and the projects of the students after their .

As part of the development of this new time grid, meetings were organized in the three districts of the canton in order to present the initial project and collect the opinions of the teaching staff. A made it possible to collect precious feedback, leading to significant adjustments. The mainly disputed elements have been abandoned, while the well -received proposals have been preserved and optimized.

Among the flagship changes is a strengthening of languages. Indeed, an additional lesson will be granted to level C level C in German in 11e year. In , students from 11e year will all benefit from an additional lesson. The emphasis will also be placed on the oral practice of the two languages ​​in small groups in order to strengthen learning in these two disciplines.

The practical economy will appear in 10e year for all students and a weekly lesson in creative and manual activities will be introduced in 9e Year to support the dexterity of schoolchildren evolving in a screen company.

New choice of options
The redesigned time grid also deeply reviews the organization of optional courses. Options 1 to 4 current will be deleted to make way for two types of courses. Students will take compulsory option courses, spread over three skill levels from 9e Year in disciplines: English, practical economics, geography, history and natural sciences. In addition, they will also benefit from a personal choice course, selected in 9e year to be followed in 10e et 11e year. Four possibilities are offered: Latin, , technical activities or mathematics and natural sciences.

This redevelopment of the time grid aims to better support students according to their needs and projects. Lessons on learning techniques and project support are also introduced for those who will need it.

Several working groups will finalize the content and adapt the study plans if necessary. Interested teachers will be able to participate by contacting the education service.

This new time grid marks a significant evolution of the Jura School framework, in a desire to adapt the school to the current realities of students and to better prepare them for their professional future.
