The torrential rains and the landslides which disrupt several regions of Switzerland also come, inevitably, to derail the projects of many travelers for this extended weekend.
The weather conditions are so unfavorable that rail traffic has been interrupted for several hours between Domodossola and Milan, as confirmed by the SBB. And the situation is not ready to unlock.
Domodossola station is a familiar passage for many Swiss passengers passing through Italy and Milan.
The Italian rail network does not yet have a recovery prognosis And the staff are on site to assess the magnitude of the damage on the rails, adds the Swiss railway company.
Their recommendation? “For the moment (…), take the route via Zurich, with an extension of the journey time”says Frédéric Revaz, spokesperson for the CFFs, who refers us to the real-time information portal on the current disturbances on the network.
On the Swiss side, the interruption due to bad weather between Loèche and Visp should be lifted by the end of the afternoon, specifies Frédéric Revaz.
