Hamilton tempers his ‘frustration’ after his anger in the race in Miami

Lewis Hamilton was much more serene after the Miami Grand Prix arrived, despite access to anger during the race. The Ferrari pilot annoyed himself to have to let his teammate go back to the radio, to the point of asking with irony if he had to let Carlos Sainz pass when he returned within two seconds.

Once the adrenaline is coming back down, the seven -time champion analyzed his race with more coldness and revealed than after a relay stuck behind Esteban Ocon, he believed a brief moment that he could in the top 10 to the advantage of his medium tires, but he was then stuck behind his teammate.

“It was a difficult race with the start in hard tires, there was little grip because it had rained and the track was a little green. I wasted a lot of time behind the haas at the start and when the car came to life, I was happy, I was eighth, I had the tires and I had a lot of pace compared to the car in tells Hamilton.

“I wanted to take advantage of it and try to get back on the McLaren. And a lot of time was lost in the scenario that we knew. Hot, it’s frustrating, but we will on this internally to see how we can progress. We are not where we want to be, Charles like me.”

While the Scuderia was at the Williams F1 level this weekend, Hamilton welcomes the performances of the James Vowles team, its former strategist at Mercedes: “First of all, Williams does an incredible job. They have an incredible job, their team does a fantastic job and they have two very good drivers.”

“They are fast, and fight against them and be in trouble to beat them shows that we lack performance. We know where we are wasting time, we have to progress with the car before unlocking the performance. But we’re not going to let go and continue to work.”
