Between April 28 and May 03, the AMAPO concentrated its efforts on the deserving students of students educated near its headquarters, in the Chinese village, in Cayenne. The association organized a football camp in partnership with Gaétan Hermine schools, René Barthélémy and Malacarnet. An initiative that aims to reward school journeys, deserving attitudes and to fight against dropping out of school.
In 42 years, the AMAPO values have not changed. The association still works for charity and dedication to people in need by providing financial, food and school aid to the inhabitants of the Chinese village, in Cayenne
The icing on the cake: the sponsor of the camp, Florent Malouda, attended several training sessions of this football tournament aimed at rewarding good students.
The schedule of the week has split in two parts : In the morning, qualified teachers gave lessons to camp participants, while the afternoon was reserved for sports activities. The primary idea is to offer vacation to children who do not have the opportunity to leave the neighborhood during the holidays. But the concept is deeper.

This camp is an opportunity to strengthen values such as good manners, commitment, rigor, taste for effort team cohesion and sharing. Values probably shared by the Guyanese footballer, Florent Malouda, who has provided constant and regular support to the association for several years.

Giving the name of Florent Malouda to the project seems obvious to the association which thus manifests its recognition for the commitment of the footballer both financially and personally to young people in the neighborhood.
Alex Polony adds that “The AMAPO always needs volunteers to carry out its actions in favors of the poorest because today donors are no longer enough, you have to hunt for grants. As part of this operation, we benefited from the support of the CAF (Family Affairs Caisse), the CACL (Agglomeration Community of the Center Littoral), the City of Cayenne and “we would like to thank all these institutions for their implications in the success of young Guyana”.
